Sales executive and sales director at various printers; Centurion Press: Founder 1971, Chair, and subsidiary companies in UK.
House of Lords: Raised to the peerage as Baron Evans of Watford, of Chipperfield in the County of Hertfordshire 1998.

Political interests: Trade and Industry, printing and publishing, graphic design, industrial relations, education and the voluntary sector.
